1. A method of separating a refractory moulded shell (1) from a casting pattern (2), in which the moulded shell (1) is formed adjacent to the surface of the casting pattern (2) by mechanically and/or pneumatically compacting, and possibly thermo-setting, a fine-grained mineral mass the particles of which are encased by an organic or unorganic binding agent, and in which air pressure above atmospheric pressure is applied between the casting pattern (2) and the mould shell (1), characterized in that air pressure below the atmospheric one is applied at the surface of the moulded shell (1).

Eine über einem Gießereimodell verdichtete und ggfs. ausgehärtete Formmaske (1), die aus einem feinkörnigen, von einem Binder durchsetzten Stoff dargestellt ist, wird von der Formmaske dadurch gelöst, daß in einem über dem Gießereimodell (2) und der Formmaske angeordneten Formkasten ein vorzugsweise schlagartig aufgebauter Unterdruck (7) erzeugt wird. Durch die Anwendung des Verfahrens erfolgt die Trennung der Formmaske (1) gleichmäßig an der gesamten Oberfläche des Gießereimodells. Dabei tritt keine punktmäßige Beanspruchung der Formmaske auf, so daß Stabilität, Elastizität und Porösität mit entsprechender Stoff- und Binderauswahl ohne besondere Einschränkungen gezielt für die weitere Verwendung ausgewählt werden können. In Ergänzung des Verfahrens kann zwischen Formmaske und Gießereimodell durch Öffnungen (4) in letzterem Luft auch mit Überdruck zugeführt werden.
