[origin: CA1140311A] The invention is an improved method for producing insulated winding wire by extruding a thermoplastic material onto the wire. The thermoplastic material is a partly crystalline thermoplastic polycondensate having crystallite melting point above 170.degree.C, which is polyethylene terephthalate filled with between 5 and 15% by weight of titanium dioxide. Such insulated wire avoids the disadvantage that after winding and storage fine cracks appear in the coated surface.

Zweck der Erfindung ist es, bei im Extrusionsverfahren in einem Arbeitsgang unter Verwendung teilkristalliner thermoplastischer Polykondensate mit Kristallitschmelzpunkten oberhalb 170°C isolierten elektrischen Drähten, die bezüglich ihrer Eigenschaften und ihrer Funktion mit den lackisolierten Wickeldrähten vergleichbar sind, die Rißbildungsneigung der Thermoplastbeschichtung zu verhindern. Entsprechende Wickeldrähte, deren Isolationsschichtstärke den Erfordernissen der Deutschen Norm DIN 46435 genügt und deren Thermoplastbeschichtung nicht zur Rißbildung neigt, werden im Extrusionsverfahren erhalten, wenn als Beschichtungsmaterial mit 5 - 15 Gew.% Titandioxid gefülltes Polyäthylenterephthalat eingesetzt wird. Eine weitere Nachbehandlung der Drähte ist nicht mehr erforderlich.
