Abstract (en)

1. Apparatus on a vehicle running on a predetermined line with fixed stopping-places and having doors released for opening only at the stopping-places, for the wireless transmission of data concerning the position of the vehicle to a central position-monitoring installation, said apparatus having a first travel counter (11) advanced by the revolutions of a wheel and reset by each release of the doors, the capacity of which first travel counter is less than the length of the entire line and exceeds the longest distance occurring between two stopping-places, and the count of which first travel counter is transmitted (1) each time on the basis of a periodic interrogation effected by the central installation, the time intervals of the interrogation being at most half as long as the minimum running time necessary between two stopping-places, and the position, starting from the terminus of said line, being calculated each time by the central installation from the sum of the differences in the counts of the first travel counter (11) between two successive transmissions, taking into account corrections resulting in each case from the comparison of said sum with the known distances of the stopping-places from said terminus, characterized by a second travel counter (12), to be reset in each case solely at the termini of the line, having a capacity exceeding the length of said line and a lesser accuracy, relative to the distance travelled, than that of the first travel counter, and by circuit means (15) which, in the case of some of the transmissions of the count, cause the transmission of the count of the second travel counter (12) instead of that of the first travel counter (11) so that after a temporary interruption or a disturbance of the transmission between the vehicle and the central installation, the position of the vehicle is nevertheless ascertainable - with less accuracy - on the basis of the count of the second travel counter (12).

Abstract (de)

Das Fahrzeug wird von einer zentralen Anlage periodisch abgefragt und sendet Daten über die durchfahrene Wegstecke aus. Es sind zwei Wegzähler verhältnismässig kleiner Stellenzahl vorhanden, von denen der eine (11) eine gross Genauigkeit, jedoch eine die Länge der befahrenen Strecke unterschreitende Kapazität und der andere (12) eine kleine Genauigkeit, dagegen eine die Länge der befahrenen Strecke überschreitende Kapazität aufweist. Der Zähler (11) mit der grossen Genauigkeit wird an jeder Haltestelle zurückgestellt. Der Stand des Zählers (11) mit der grossen Genauigkeit wird in verhältnismässig kurzen, derjenige mit der kleinen Genauigkeit in verhältnismässig langen Zeitabständen an die zentrale Anlage übertragen. Es ist daher trotz verhältnismässig keiner Stellenzahl der beiden Zähler und einer infolgedessen erreichten kurzen Uebermittlungszeit eine im normalen Betrieb grosse Genauigkeit der Standortangabe möglich. Auch nach einem langen Unterbruch der Uebertragung der Zählerstände ist eine Standortbestimmung mit kleiner Genauigkeit immer noch möglich.
