Fastening nut (34) to fasten closures (10) consisting of metal for switch cabinet doors, in which the closure (10) that is passed through a metal panel (26) is earthed by electrical contact with the metal panel (26), characterised in that the fastening nut (34) is at the same time an earthing nut, that both lateral surfaces (50) of the fastening nut (34) are provided with teeth (40) that are sharp in the direction of tightening with their point projecting above the contact surface (50), for the purpose of scraping off non-conducting layers (74), more particularly layers of paint and oxide, on the metal panel (26), in order to create an electrical contact between the lateral contact surface (50) of the fastening nut (34) and the metal panel (26) and thereby to render separate earthing measures unnecessary, each tooth (40) being of smaller width (54) than the cross-sectional width (56) of the contact surface (50) of the fastening nut (34).
