[origin: US4338154A] In a single-face corrugator of the type in which the corrugated paper is held by suction against the lower corrugated cylinder, the latter includes, outside its inner chamber filled with saturated heating vapor, separate longitudinal channels in the peripheral body of the cylinder. Each channel is connected to the exterior via axial channels and elongate grooves machined in the periphery of the cylinder, and can be connected to a suction apparatus via two hollow and sealed circular arcuate sectors bearing on the part of the face of the cylinder associated with the holding region on the latter. The grooves are staggered and machined in circumferential portions of the periphery of the cylinder so as to extend over several corrugations thereof. An additional blowing sector permits detachment of the corrugated paper.

Le cylindre cannelé inférieur (4) comporte, à l'extérieur de l'espace intérieur creux (11) destiné à recevoir la vapeur saturante de chauffage, des canaux longitudinaux (12) séparés et percés dans le corps périphérique du cylindre. Chaque canal (12) est relié à l'extérieur par des canaux axiaux (13) et des cavités plus larges (14) usinées sur la périphérie du cylindre, et peut être relié à un dispositif d'aspiration par l'intermédiaire de deux secteurs (15) creux et étanches en arc de cercle, s'appuyant sur la partie de la tranche du cylindre associée à la zone de retenue sur celui-ci. Les cavités (14) se présentent sous la forme de gorges allongées, disposées en quinconce et usinées sur des portions de circonférence de la périphérie du cylindre (4) de manière à s'étendre sur plusieurs ondulations de celui-ci. Un secteur additionnel de soufflage (25) permet de faciliter le décollage de la nappe de papier ondulé.
