[origin: WO8001988A1] Ski brake comprising two pivoting arms intended to be arranged on either side of a ski and of which the active parts are movable between a lowered braking position and a retraction raised position, the opposite ends thereof carrying a control pedal. In said brake, both ends of the pivoting arms, opposite to the active portion thereof, are connected directly one to the other by a hinge (14), on the other end, the control pedal (8a) is hinged on the portions of said arms located between this connection point and the pivoting axis thereof, about two axes (11a) inclined in the reverse direction with respect to a line transversal to the ski. Thus, after the raising of the active portions of the braking arms, under the effect of the pressure of a ski boot on the opposite ends thereof, the folding back of the control pedal (8a) against the ski causes the bringing together of the active portions of the braking arms above the ski. The present brake is intended to be mounted on skis.

Frein a ski comportant deux bras pivotants destines a etre disposes sur l'un et l'autre cotes d'un ski et dont les parties actives peuvent se deplacer entre une position abaissee de freinage et une position relevee d'escamotage, cependant que leurs extremites opposees portent une pedale de commande. Dans ce frein, les deux extremites des bras pivotants, opposees a leur partie active, sont reliees directement l'une a l'autre par une articulation (14). Par ailleurs, la pedale de commandes (8a) s'articule sur les parties de ces bras situees entre ce point de liaison et leur axe de pivotement, et ce autour de deux axes (11a) inclines en sens inverse par rapport a une ligne transversale au ski. Ainsi, apres le relevement des parties actives des bras de freinage, sous l'effet de la pression d'une chaussure de ski sur leurs extremites opposees, le rabattement de la pedale de commande (8a) contre le ski provoque le rapprochement des parties actives des bras de freinage au-dessus du ski. Le present frein est destine a equiper des skis.
