The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for the adjustment of printing positions on a record carrier (AT) of an office typewriter, teletype machine or data printer in which a printing mechanism (DR) is arranged on a printer carriage (DW) which can be moved in the horizontal direction and in which the recording carrier (AT) can be displaced in the vertical direction. After the printing position of the last printed character has been stored, the new printing position in each case is calculated from control characters such as "carriage return", "line feed" and "space". When another printable character occurs, the printing mechanism (DW) is brought to the new printing position on the shortest way by simultaneously moving the printer carriage (TW) and the recording carrier (AT). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren und eine Anordnung zum Einstellen von Druckpositionen auf einem Aufzeichnungsträger (AT) einer Büro-, Fern- oder Datenschreibmaschine, bei der ein Druckwerk (DR) auf einem in horizontaler Richtung bewegbaren Druckerwagen (DW) angeordnet ist und bei der der Aufzeichnungsträger (AT) in vertikaler Richtung verschiebbar ist. Nach dem Speichern der Druckposition des letzten gedruckten Zeichens wird aus Steuerzeichen wie "Wagenrücklauf", "Zeilenvorschub" und "Zwischenraum" die jeweils neue Druckposition berechnet. Beim Auftreten eines weiteren abdruckbaren Zeichens wird das Druckwerk (DW) unter gleichzeitiger Bewegung des Druckerwagens (DW) und des Aufzeichnungsträgers (AT) auf dem kürzesten Weg in die neue Druckposition gebracht.
