Coupling base for electrical circuits, comprising a stationary socket (1) and a movable plug (2) which are both equipped with conductor members (3, 4) of complementary shapes for making the connection, and a locking device for locking the plug (2) with the socket (1), the connection and/or disconnection of the circuit being obtained by insertion and/or extraction, respectively, by manually acting on gripping surfaces (55, 56) of the movable plug (3), and the disengagement control member being formed by one of the gripping surfaces (55), said locking device being formed of a stationary catch member (57, 61) carried by the socket (1) and of a movable peg (58) carried by the plug (2) and fixed to a first end of a lever (52) provided with one of the gripping surfaces (55), characterized in that, on its other end, the lever (52) is fixed to a supporting member (54) provided with another one of the gripping surfaces (56), said supporting member (54) projecting into the extraction direction with respect to the movable plug, and in that the stationary catach member (57, 61) of the locking device is fixed to one end of a carrier (51).
