[origin: EP0027238A2] In a ratchet spanner with a working head (3) designed as a ratchet and a handle (1) which is articulated by a joint fork (6) and can be angled about a knuckle pin (5) relative to the plane of rotation of the ratchet, the intention is to provide a securing device for the chosen angle of the handle which, on the one hand, reliably locks the angle and, on the other hand, permits easy adjustment with only one hand. For this purpose, the securing device has a pin-shaped latch (8) which protrudes axially from the fork base of the joint fork (6) and can be pulled back into the base of the fork by means of a slide (24) counter to the force of a spring (9), and furthermore has a ring of openings (49) on the joint portion surrounded by the joint fork (6), the latch-receiving direction of the openings (49) in each case being radial to the knuckle pin (5) of the handle. <IMAGE>
