Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0027619A2] The invention refers to a method for operating a heat pump. The compressor of the heat pump is, in this case, switched off when a maximum permissible pressure of the refrigerant is reached. In contrast to the conventional mode of operation in accordance with the state of technology, in which switching off counts as a fault case, the compressor - after being switched off because the maximum permissible pressure of the refrigerant has been reached - is switched on again after a first constant time (t1) has elapsed. Compressor switching off which counts as a fault case only occurs when the pressure of the refrigerant rises again to the maximum permissible value (pmax) within a second constant time (t2). The switching cycle, however, starts from the beginning when the maximum permissible pressure (pmax) only occurs after the second constant time (t2) has been exceeded. This method of operation reduces the compressor switching frequency and the number of fault cases. <IMAGE>
