[origin: US4279521A] A wire matrix print head has a first group of wires activated by a first group of electromagnetic means disposed on the circumference of a circle and substantially equally angularly spaced from each other. A second group of print wires is activated by a second group of electromagnetic means disposed on the circumference of a circle with each of the electromagnetic means of the second group having its longitudinal axis out of alignment with the longitudinal axis of each of the electromagnetic means of the first group. The print head includes guide means to transform the two groups of wires, which have their ends remote from the ends causing printing disposed on the circumferences of two circles, into a row and column matrix for causing printing.

Tête d'impression (10) à matrice de fils (46) permettant l'impression de points de petit diamètre se chevauchant pour une meilleure définition des caractères imprimés. La tête (10) comporte des fils (46) dont une partie est commandée par un premier groupe d'électro-aimants (18) montés en cercle et régulièrement espacés sur une première plaque de montage (14) et dont l'autre partie est commandée par un second groupe d'électro-aimants (19) montés en cercle et régulièrement espacés sur une seconde plaque de montage (16). Les électro-aimants (19) du second groupe sont décalés angulairement par rapport à ceux (18) du premier groupe. Les deux groupes de fils (46) qui, au voisinage des électro-aimants (18, 19) sont disposés en cercle, traversent des guides (56, 71, 74) qui les disposent selon les lignes et colonnes d'une matrice. Une partie (56) des guides est formée par un élément creux (60) rempli de matériau thermodurcissable (59) dans lequel des passages (58) ont été formés par des fils-gabarits retirés après durcissement du matériau (59).
