1. Supporting element for use with medical support apparatus, with a filling comprising a mixture of foam plastic elements and solid synthetic plastic material beads, characterised in that the foam plastic elements used are per se known small polygonal rods of polyether foam all of whose side surfaces are as if formed by cutting, and approximately 50% by volume of small polygonal rods and approx. 50% by volume of beads constitute the preferred mixture ratio, and the total filling volume of the supporting element amounts to 70 to 80%.

Es wird ein Stützelement für medizinische Lagerungszwecke vorgeschlagen, das aus an sich bekannten Schaumstoffkantstäbchen besteht, deren sämtliche Seitenflächen Schnittflächen bilden, wobei ca. 50 Vol% Schaumstoffkantstäbchen und ca 50 Vol.% Kunststoffperlen das bevorzugte Mischungsverhältnis bilden, wobei das Gesamtfüllvolumen des kissenartigen Stützelementes nur ca. 70 bis 80 % beträgt. Durch diese Ausbildung wird eine gewisse Ventilation des Stützelementes, das ausreichend modellierbar ist, erreicht, das Stützelement führt nicht zu Druckreizungen und ein Raschein wird bei Bewegungen des Patienten vermieden.
