Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a cartridge for disseminating electromagnetic chaff which can be fired by means of a pistol. Inside a caseholder is mounted a projectile (10). This contains shells (20, 25 and 30), each consisting of a circular bottom integral with at least one half-cylinder of the same diameter. These shells interact there to define two receptacles for electromagnetic chaff. The electromagnetic chaff is advantageously selected to reflect two different wavelength ranges. The projectile of a calibre of 40 mm makes it possible to launch at 80 metres a large-size cloud of electromagnetic chaff. The invention is used particularly as an ocean alarm cartridge. <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne une cartouche de lancement de leurres électromagnetiques qui puisse être tirée à l'aide d'un pistolet. A l'intérieur d'une douille-étui il est monté un projectile (10). Celui-ci renferme des coquilles (20, 25 et 30), constituées chacune d'un fond circulaire solidaire d'au moins un demi-cylindre de même diamètre. Ces coquilles y coopèrent entre elles pour définir deux logements de leurres électromagnétiques. Les leurres électromagnétiques sont avantageusement choisis pour réfléchir deux gammes de longueurs d'ondes différentes. Le projectile, d'un calibre de 40 mm, permet de lancer à 80 mètres un nuage de leurres électromagnétiques de grande dimension. Application notamment comme cartouche d'alarme en mer.
