1. Cutting device for web of material transportable stepwise, cut in its stationary state and guided only in the direction of the normal towards the cutting edge of a cutting bar with a cutting wheel (4) executing a reciprocating movement along the cutting edge (7), which in at least one direction of movement can selectively be activated into a cutting position and which is rotatably arranged on an axle (3) mounted on a carriage (33), and with a roller arranged on the same axle (3) and rolling on the web of material to be cut off, the roller serving in its cutting position as driving roller (8) for the cutting wheel (4), characterized in that the surface (9) of the driving roller (8) is a cylindrical circumferential surface which rolls on the web of material placed on the cutting bar (7), that in this process the common axle (3) supporting driving roller (8) and cutting wheel (4) is arranged obliquely at approximately 3 degrees to approximately 5 degrees to the normal of the cutting edge extending in the direction of the web of material, and that during the cutting process the circumferential speed of the edge of the cutting wheel (4) is approximately 15 to 17 % higher than the circumferential speed of the circumferential surface of the driving roller (8).

In einer Schneidvorrichtung für einen Drucker mit schrittweise transportierbarer Papierbahn ist ein hin und her fahrbares Schneidrad (4) vorgesehen, das fest mit einer auf der Papierbahn abrollenden Antriebsrolle (8) verbunden ist, die durch die Schrägstellung der gemeinsamen Achse (3) um etwa 3 bis etwa 5° an Stelle einer sonst erforderlichen Niederhaltung die Papierbahn festhält und spannt. Wichtig ist dabei, daß der Durchmesser des Schneidrades erheblich größer ist als der Durchmesser der Antriebsrolle.
