Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0029789A1] 1. Carburetor for internal combustion engine of the type which comprises, for normal operation of the engine, a main fuel jetting system which is located upstream of a driver operated throttle member (2) and, for starting and cold operation, an automatic starting device which comprises a starting flap (3) which is located in the induction passage upstream of the main fuel jetting system as well as a thermostatic element which is responsive to the engine temperature and whose deformation, upon increase of the engine temperature, first moves the flap toward its complete opening position, then further decreases the minimum degree of opening of the main throttle member (2) until a predetermined temperature is reached, said thermostatic element being connected to the flap by a mechanical connection comprising resilient means, characterized in that the starting device is provided with retractable abuting means comprising a first stop (61) which cooperates with the throttling member for causing its minimum degree of opening to be higher than that which is given by said thermostatic element (20) and a second stop (63) which cooperates with the starting flap or limiting its degree of opening to a value which is lower than that which is given by said thermostatic element (20), and is provided wiht control means (65) for de-energizing said first and second stops after a time delay from the beginning of engine operation.
