[origin: WO8002449A1] An improved construction for torque transmitting bodies retained under high normal force loading against complementing traction surfaces in the transmission of torque by friction. Conical traction members (48, 50) are assembled in end-for-end relation to provide the traction body with a biconical shape. The body is supported at opposite ends by integral shaft extensions (90, 92) at the small ends of the conical members (48, 50). In one embodiment, the traction members (48, 50) are assembled on a central shaft (70). In an alternative embodiment, the traction members (152, 154) are interconnected directly with each other to provide the biconical body.

Une construction amelioree pour corps de transmission de couples retenus sous une grande force normale de charge contre des surfaces de traction complementaires dans la transmission du couple par friction. Des organes de traction coniques (48, 50) sont assembles en bout a bout pour donner au corps de traction une forme biconique. Le corps est supporte a ses extremites opposees par des extensions d'arbres solidaires (90, 92) des petites extremites des organes coniques (48, 50). Dans un mode de realisation, les organes de traction (48, 50) sont assembles sur un arbre central (70). Dans un autre mode de realisation, les organes de traction (152, 154) sont connectes entre eux directement pour former le corps biconique.
