[origin: US4343422A] The invention relates to an apparatus for deflecting a web of material moving in its longitudinal direction, both into a plane situated at right angles to the surface of the web and into a plane situated in the surface of the web, whereby a supporting element provided for the web during its deflection is an endless flat belt which the web mounts before it is deflected and which the web leaves after its deflection and cylindrical rollers and deflecting bodies in the form of tube and/or tube segments having supporting means on their circumferential surface are provided which guide the endless belt to deflect the web and subsequently return the belt to the point where the web mounts the belt.

In einer Umlenkvorrichtung für in Längsrichtung bewegte Bahnen (1) ist ein endloser Flachriemen (2) vorgesehen, auf den die Bahn (1) aufläuft und den die Bahn (1) nach der Umlenkung sowohl in eine senkrecht zu den Flächen der Bahn liegende Ebene als auch in eine in der Fläche der Bahn liegende Ebene verläßt und zur Führung und Umlenkung des Flachriemens (2) mit der aufgelaufenen Bahn (1) sind zylindrische Walzen (3, 6) und ein rohrsegment-oder rohrförmiger Umlenkkörper (4) und zur Zurückführung des Flachriemens (2) zur Bahnauflaufstelle sind zylindrische Walzen (3, 6) und rohrsegment- und/oder rohrförmige Umlenkkörper (7,8,10) angeordnet, wobei die Umlenkkörper (4, 7, 8, 10) an ihrem Umfang mit Trägerelementen (11, 12) versehen sind.
