Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0030297A2] A firearm is equipped with a suction line so that conventional propellants (liquid gas or the like) can be used as a propulsive charge. A movable part of the firearm serves as a compressor piston and/or for driving this. If the barrel itself is displaceable, the breech can also be formed on it. However, the breech can also be actuated by the gas pressure. Instead of a compressor piston, the firearm can also be driven by means of an injection pump. To ensure good sealing in the projectile bearing in relation to the propulsive charge, the projectiles are covered with a plastic sheath which, if appropriate, can comprise in a chain-like manner a number of projectiles, together with an associated quantity of propulsive charge. For this, a separating device and a conveying device are provided in the firearm. <IMAGE>
