Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0030611A2] 1. Method for controlling and regulating a motor (2) with a permanent magnetic rotor (21) having at least one pair of poles and a stator with at least two windings (22, 23), to one (22) of which drive pulses are applied in nominal running mode, whilst the other winding (23) serves as a control winding for determining the rotor movement with respect to the stator, whereby the rotor movements are converted into rectangular actual frequency pulses and are compared with desired frequency pulses having a predetermined frequency and as a function of the comparison between the desired frequency pulses and the actual frequency pulses, the width of the drive pulses is controlled, particularly for reaction motors of time-keeping devices, such as clocks, characterized in that the rotor speed is determined and when the speed drops below a predeterminable value, automatic starting is initiated for the stepwise increase of the rotor speed by cyclic switching and polarity reversal of the drive pulses from the first winding (22) to the second winding (23), accompanied by a stepwise increase in the desired frequency pulses and that on reaching the nominal running speed, the automatic start mode is switched off and the nominal running mode is switched on.
