Abstract (en)
To obtain castings having areas with improved wear resistance, substances which cause with the melt a local alloy effect are introduced in the mould. A base metal is used which is comprised of manganese austenitic steel and porous bodies of ferroboron. To this effect, the finally divided ferroboron is mixed with an aqueous solution of alkaline silicate and optionally with other hard materials, and the mixture is foamed by heating preferably in core boxes, and the hardened bodies are introduced in the mould areas where they are to cause a local alloy effect. The use of such hard castings for bucket tip s and/or edges of power shovels has given very good results.

Bei einem Verfahren zur Herstellung von metallischen Hartguß-Formteilen, welche durch Einbringung von Formkörpern, die mit dem Schmelzenwerkstoff einen örtlichen Legierungseffekt liefern, in die Gußform mit Bereichen erhöhter Verschleißfestigkeit versehen sind, soll eine Grundmetallschmelze aus Manganhartstahl und aus Ferrobor hergestellte poröse Formkörper verwendet werden. Das feinteilige Ferrobor wird dazu mit einer wässerigen Alkalisilikatlösung und gegebenenfalls mit zusätzlichen Hartstoffen vermischt, vorzugsweise in Kernkästen durch Erwärmung zum Aufschäumen gebracht und die erhärteten Formkörper werden in die Bereiche der Gußform eingesetzt, in denen sie einen örtlichen Legierungseffekt liefern sollen. Die Verwendung erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Hartguß-Formteile als Baggerzähne und/oder Baggerlippen von Löffelbaggern hat sich besonders bewährt.
