In the controllable carburising, or heating in a protective atmosphere, of steel workpieces in a carburising furnace (1), the furnace is supplied with methanol and nitrogen via a methanol feed line (6) and a nitrogen feed line (13) and a carrier gas is generated from these within the furnace. Additionally, an oxygenated derivative of a hydrocarbon is supplied as a carburising agent from a source (4) via a line (8), and by appropriate metering of the nitrogen supply, a predetermined C level of the furnace atmosphere can be maintained with a minimum of carrier gas. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Beim regelbaren Aufkohlen oder Erwärmen in Schutzgas von Werkstücken aus Stahl in einem Aufkohlungsofen (1) wird die Ofenatmospäre häufig aus Trägergas und Aufkohlungsmittel gebildet. Bei der vorliegenden Anlage wird der Aufkohlungsofen (1) einerseits über eine Methanol-Zufuhneitung (6) und eine Stickstoff-Zuleitung (13) mit Methanol und Stickstoff beschicht und innerhalb des Ofens daraus ein Trägergas generiert und andererseits wird diesem Ofen aus einem Vorratsgefäss (4) über eine Leitung (8) Kohlungsmittel zugeführt. Durch entsprechende Dosierung des Stickstoffs kann bei minimal erforderlicher Menge von Trägergas ein vorbestimmter C-Pegel der Ofenatmosphäre konstant gehalten werden.
