[origin: US4386873A] A device for draining sandy ground areas, such as tennis-courts, includes an air pump, water separating elements and a suction device. A suction pipe connects the pump to the water separating elements and the water separating means to the suction device. In order to prevent sand from being removed from the ground during the draining process, the suction device has a relatively large inlet is covered by an open-pore, elastic foam plastics material.
