Furnace chamber closures for the coke side (or the machine side) of the furnace chambers (1) of a horizontal coke oven consist of a door frame (2), a door body (3) allocated to the door frame (2), sealing means (4) between the door frame (2) and the door body (3) (sealing means I) which are held by a circumferential door body shoulder (5), interlocking means (6) with which the door body (3) can be pressed against, and secured to, the door frame (2), and a prechamber (8) mounted in front of the gap region (7) between the door frame (2) and the door body (3) and running round in channel fashion and which can in turn be outwardly sealed with sealing means (9) (sealing means II). In order to be able to construct the prechamber (8) in a simple manner in terms of structure, production engineering and materials and with a small volume in the case of furnace chamber closures of the type described above in their basic structure, provision is made, according to the invention, that the prechamber (8) is bounded only by a part of the door frame (2), the sealing means I (4), the door body shoulder (5) holding the sealing means I (4) and the sealing means II (9). This dispenses with the inclusion of a part of the adjacent wall protection panels, with the adjacent vertical anchor members and closure panels provided at the top and bottom between the adjacent vertical anchor members in constructing the prechamber (8).

Ofenkammerverschlüsse für die Koksseite (bzw. die Maschinenseite) der Ofenkammern (1) eines Horizontalkammerverkokungsofens bestehen aus einem Türrahmen (2), aus einem dem Türrahmen (2) zugeordneten Türkörper (3), aus Dichtungsmitteln (4) zwischen dem Türrahmen (2) und dem Türkörper (3) (Dichtungsmittel I), die von einem umlaufenden Türköperansatz (5) gehalten sind, aus Verriegelungsmitteln (6), mit denen der Türkörper (3) am Türrahmen (2) andrück- und festlegbar ist, und aus einer dem Spaltbereich (7) zwischen dem Türrahmen (2) und dem Türkörper (3) vorgelagerten, kanalartig umlaufenden Vorkammer (8), die ihrerseits nach außen hin mit Dichtungsmitteln (9) (Dichtungsmittel II) abdichtbar ist. Um bei Ofenkammerverschlüssen der zuvor in ihrem grundsätzlichen Aufbau beschriebenen Art die Vorkammer (8) konstruktiv, fertigungstechnisch und materialmäßig einfach und mit einem kleinen Volumen ausführen zu können, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß die Vorkammer (8) nur durch einen Teil des Türrahmens (2), die Dichtungsmittel I (4), den die Dichtungsmittel I (4) haltenden Türkörperansatz (5) sowie die Dichtungsmittel II (9) begrenzt ist. Dadurch wird bei der Bildung der Vorkammer (8) auf den Einschluß eines Teils der angrenzenden Wandschutzplatten, auf die benachbarten Ankerständer und auf oben und unten zwischen den benachbarten Ankerständern vorgesehene Abschlußplatten verzichtet.
