1. Apparatus for heating sand, gravel or similar granular material, comprising arcuately profiled channels (22) arranged in a receptacle (1) containing the material to be heated for feeding a heating gas into the material, and further arcuately profiled channels (22) for discharging the heating gas from the material, characterized in that the arcuately profiled channels (22) which serve to feed the gas into the material as well as the arcuately profiled channels (22) which serve to evacuate the gas from the material are grouped in alternately laterally adjacent batteries (2, 3) each comprising several vertically superposed arcuately profiled channels and forming vertical partition walls between which the material to be heated is arranged in relatively thin layers (5).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Anwärmen von Sand, Kies oder ähnlichem körnigem Gut, die in einem Behälter des anzuwärmenden Guts angeordnete Wölbprofilrinnen 2 zum Eintragen eines Aufheizgases in das Gut und Wölbprofilrinnen 3 zum Ableiten des Aufheizgases aus dem Gut umfasst. Um bei einer solchen Vorrichtung zu erreichen, dass sich das Anwärmen nur auf einen genau begrenzten, räumlichen Bereich erstreckt, ist erfindungsgemäss vorgesehen, dass die zum Eintragen des Aufheizgases vorgesehenen Wölbprofilrinnen 2 zum einen und die zum Austragen des Aufheizgases vorgesehenen Wölbprofilrinnen 3 zum anderen zu abwechselnd nebeneinander anzuordnenden, mehrere übereinander befindliche Wölbprofilrinnen umfassenden, vertikale Trennwände bildenden Batterien zusammengefasst sind, zwlschen denen relativ dünne Schichten 5 des aufzuheizenden Guts liegen.
