[origin: WO8100268A1] A new process for preparing, by means of a paper manufacturing technique, a thermoplastic sheet reinforced with cellulose fibers, wherein a thermoplastic powder and cellulose fibers are used in association, if necessary with other fibers said process being characterized in that (1) an aqueous suspension is prepared from a base mixture (selected among (i) the fibers and the pulverulent thermoplastic substance when there is no non-binding mineral charge, and (ii) the fibers, the pulverulent thermoplastic substance and the non-binding mineral charge when the latter is present), an organic binder and a flocculating agent, and by means of the suspension thus obtained, a sheet is formed by wet process, and it is then wrung and dried and (2) if necessary, the thermoplastic sheet thus obtained is subjected to at least a complementary treatment, the weight ratio of pulverulent thermoplastic substance to fibers being comprised between .3 and 95. Thermoplastic reinforced sheet as a new industrial product and application thereof particularly in the field of transformation of plastic materials.

Procede de preparation par voie papetiere d'une feuille thermoplastique armee de fibres cellulosiques, dans lequel on utilise une poudre thermoplastique et des fibres cellulosiques en association, le cas echeant, avec d'autres fibres, ledit procede etant caracterise en ce que (1) on prepare une suspension aqueuse a partir d'un melange de base (choisi parmi l'ensemble constitue par (i) les fibres et la substance thermoplastique en poudre quand il n'y a pas de charge minerale non liante, et (ii) les fibres, la substance thermoplastique en poudre et la charge minerale non liante quand celle-ci est presente), d'un liant organique et d'un agent floculant, puis forme, au moyen de la suspension ainsi obtenue, une feuille par voie humide que l'on essore et seche et (2) si necessaire, on soumet la feuille thermoplastique ainsi obtenue a au moins un traitement complementaire, le rapport ponderal substance thermoplastique en poudre-fibres etant compris entre 0,3 et 95. Elle concerne egalement ladite feuille thermoplastique armee en tant que produit industriel nouveau et son application, notamment, dans le domaine de la transformation des matieres plastiques.
