Abstract (en)
The body, used as a fin or center board for a sailing boat, has a horizontal cross section asymmetrical with respect to the vertical longitudinal center plane (18) of the boat, so as to provide a lateral thrust component, and is comprised of at least two portions (14, 16) arranged one behind the other in the headway direction. The front portion (14) has a neutral cross section having the shape of a drop symmetrical to said plane whereas a rear portion (16) arranged on the leeward side of the center plane, has a substantially triangular cross section and gets closer with its anterior side to the front portion of the body so as to complete the drop shape of the latter to obtain an asymmetrical thrust section. The rear portion of the body may be comprised of one of the two retractable center board halves, of which only the one which is on the leeward side is lowered, and there may be a traversing slot (20). The front portion of the body may be shaped as a retractable ballast keel and may be retracted, with the half of the rear portion which is lowered, by means of a cable which is also used to retract only the rear half.

Anordnung eines als Flossenkiel oder Schwert dienenden Körpers an einem Segelboot, der zur Erzeugung einer seitlichen Auftriebskomponente ein zur lotrechten Längsmittelebene (18) des Bootskörpers unsymmetrisches waagerechtes Querschnittsprofil aufweist und aus mindestens zwei in Fahrtrichtung hintereinander angeordneten Teil (14,16) besteht. Dabei ist der vordere Teil (14) symmetrisch zu dieser Ebene mit tropfenförmigem neutralen Querschnittsprofil gestaltet, während ein hinterer Teil (16) auf der Leeseite der Mittelebene angeordnet ist, ein ungefähr dreieckiges Querschnittsprofil aufweist und sich mit seiner Vorderseite dem vorderen Teil des Körpers annähert und dessen tropfenförmiges Profil zu einem unsymmetrischen Auftriebsprofil ergänzt. Der hintere Teil des Körpers kann von einer von zwei schwertartig hochziehbaren Hälften gebildet werden, von denen jeweils nur die leeseitige abgesenkt ist, und zwischen den beiden Hälften des hinteren Teils des Körpers kann sich ein durchströmter Spalt (20) befinden. Der vordere Teil des Körpers kann als hochziehbarer Ballastkiel ausgebildet sein und zusammen mit der jeweils abgesenkten hinteren Hälfte durch ein Seil hochziehbar sein, das auch zum Hochziehen nur der hinteren Hälfte allein dient.
