Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0032574A1] 1. A device for joining horizontal and vertical rails (10, 20) crosswise, in particular for facade supporting structures, into which joints and fastenings (12) are introduced via openings in the area where the rails cross, the joints and fastenings bracing the rails against each other with the following characteristics the openings in the rails (10, 20) are rectangular windows (11, 21) with their longest dimension being aligned with the longitudinal or the transverse direction of the rails (10, 20) respectively ; joints and fastenings are designed as tension bolts (12) with a tension collar (13) on the front and a tension web (17), which is tailored to the cross section of the windows (11, 21), on the rear side ; tension collar (13) and tension web (17) are connected via a distance spacer (15), the axial length of which is sized to the sum of the thicknesses of both rails (10, 20) in the area where they are joined to each other, the cross section of the spacer being such as to allow for twisting it inside the windows (11, 21) of the rails (10, 20) and/or bracing it in the direction of their smaller dimensions.
