Method for manufacturing an elastic stitched retention bandage on Raschel machine, of the type including a chain made by means of an inextensible yarn associated or not with a not covered elastic yarn, with combination of the yarns in order to cause at least one not covered elastic yarn to work jointly on the same needle with at least one inextensible yarn, and this for a part of the inextensible yarn, said method being characterized in that for obtaining a bandage having particular qualities of softness, inflatability and absorption power, inextensible warp yarns (1a) are caused to work in regular alternance or not with an elastic not covered yarn (2), and inextensible warp yarns (1) are caused to work singly, the method being also characterized in that all the extensible yarns are knitted and that the chains thus formed are connected in a manner known in se by yarns (4) working transversely.
