[origin: EP0033006A2] A clamping device with which the part strips, initially lying close together, of a web which is longitudinally divided in a splitting apparatus can be brought to mutual spacing. The device consists of two clamping jaws which have pressure means acting on the latter. At least one of the clamping jaws is formed by a plurality of clamping stones arranged next to one another in a row, which can be brought to mutual spacing by means of a thrust crank mechanism or wedge mechanism which is subjected to the pressure means.
