A method of attachment of a fabric (11) stretched before the surface of a wall (6) which is possibly bounded by a ceiling (9), in accordance with which a fixing rod is employed which is composed of a first portion (1) of material which is easy to nail to the wall and of a second portion of strong material attached to the first portion and equipped with means of hooking-on the fabric (11), characterized in that the second portion (2) being an elongated flat strip provided with claws projecting above the face of one of its straight longitudinal edges, the claws having a small height of about 1 mm, the said longitudinal edge provided with claws is placed at a short distance of about 1 to 1.5 mm from the surface of the wall (6) or of the ceiling (9) and parallel with this surface, the fabric (11) is pushed back between the said claws (4) and the wall (6) or the ceiling (9) in a direction parallel with the said wall (6) or the said ceiling (9), the fabric is folded back in a direction perpendicular to the said wall (6) or the said ceiling (9) so that the fabric (11) remains wedged between the claws (4) and the surface of the wall (6) or of the ceiling (9).
