[origin: US4436121A] A process for making a woven ribbon having stitched selvages on a ribbon loom by moving a single weft inserting member crosswise in two directions. The weft inserting member inserts a first auxiliary thread along each selvage and alternately drives a second auxiliary thread in the opposite direction outside the selvage.

On déplace l'unique trameur (45) transversalement en entraînant à chaque coup et dans les deux sens, une seule trame (A4) et en entraînant périodiquement et alternativement au moyen du trameur (45), au-delà d'un bord ou l'autre de la nappe des fils de chaîne (A3), au moins un fil de chaîne (A5) non aligné à l'intérieur de la marchure, on fait travailler alternativement sur une lisière et sur l'autre, la trame (A4) et périodiquement le fil de chaîne entraîné (A5) avec une aiguille mobile (19) le long de chaque lisière, on libère le fil de chaîne (A5) tiré à l'extérieur et lié à la lisière lorsqu'on entraîne transversalement en sens inverse, le trameur (45) et la trame (A4).
