[origin: US4456054A] A horizontal continuous casting method and apparatus is disclosed. Liquid metal, held in a storage container, is continuously maintained at a height not less than the height of the continuous casting mold. Additionally, adjustment of the relative positions with respect to one another of a magnetic coil surrounding a portion of the continuous casting mold, the storage container, in both the horizontal and vertical directions and the drain pipe extending from the storage container into the continuous casting mold is disclosed.
