[origin: EP0035869A1] A gas turbine combustor (2) comprising a combustor inner-pipe (10) for forming a head combustion chamber (16) and a rear combustion chamber (18) having a diameter larger than the diameter of the head combustion chamber (16). A combustor outer-pipe (8) covers the comustor inner-pipe (10). A fuel nozzle (12) is disposed at an end part of the head combustion chamber (16). Around the fuel nozzle (12) are arranged a first group of ports (22) for swirling and feeding air in an axial direction of the combustor inner-pipe (10). A second and a third group of ports (24,30) for swirling and feeding air in a radial direction and a fourth group of ports (28) for feeding air in a radial direction are disposed in a side wall (26) of the head combustion chamber (16). A fifth and a sixth group of ports (34,36) are disposed in a side wall (32) of the rear combustion chamber (18). Another group of ports (54) for swirling and feeding air into the head combustion chamber (16) may be disposed inside and surrounded by the fuel nozzle (12).
