A spacer (21) made of wire for lower and upper reinforcement meshes (9, 11) in concrete floors, comprising a plurality of bearing arms (1, 1') arranged substantially in one plane, an upper cross-member (2) supported on the bearing arms (1, 1') for the upper reinforcement mesh (11), at least one support arm (4) for each lateral bearing arm (1), braces (6) connecting associated support arms (4) and bearing arms (1), and hooked bearing angles (8) at the feet for the lower reinforcement mesh (9), characterised by the following features : a) the bearing arms are orientated in a plane approximately perpendicular to the base plane determined by the foot ends (22, 22') of the bearing arms (1, 1') and support arms (4, 4') ; b) connecting braces (3) between the bearing arms (1, 1') are situated above the level of the lower reinforcement mesh (9) ; c) at least the connexions of the braces (6) with the bearing arms (1) are situated at a higher level than that of the lower reinforcement mesh (9) ; d) the bearing angles (8) are provided exclusively at the support arms (4, 4') ; e) the angle (8') of the hooks are - viewed from above - inside the base area determined by the feet members (7, 7').
