Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Sichtbarmachen eines elektrostatischen Ladungsbildes, in dem man die Oberfläche einer Flüssigkeit, zum Beispiel mit einem spezifischen Widerstand im Bereich von etwa 10¹° bis 10¹<6> Ohm. cm und eine Polarisierbarkeit im Bereich von etwa 5 . 10<->²<4> bis 20 . 10 <->²<4> cm, auf einem Träger zu einem reversiblen, optisch auslesbaren Reliefbild verformt, wobei man das Reliefbild erzeugende elektrostatische Ladungsbild im Abstand von etwa 10 bis etwa 1000 µm von der Flüssigkeitsoberfläche für die Zeit des Sichtbarmachens berührungsfrei anordnet.
