[origin: US4399389A] In a travelling wave tube in which the delay line (1) is constituted by a sequence of double resonator cavities (15) alternating with the pole pieces (3) of the focusing system, the invention provides for the purpose of limiting the interception of electrons by the line an increase in the diameter of the magnetic material collars (30, 40) terminating said pieces, as well as the wall (16) of the cavities on the side of the tube axis. This increase takes place in stages, a collar (40) having the same diameter as the collar (30) which follows it in the beam propagation direction.

Dans un tube à ondes progressives dans lequel la ligne à retard (1) est constituée d'une suite de cavités résonantes doubles (15), alternant avec les pièces polaires (3) du système de focalisation, il est prévu, pour limiter l'interception d'électrons par la ligne, de fair croître le diamètre des collerettes (30 et 40) en matériau magnétique qui terminent ces pièces, de même que la paroi (16) des cavités, du côté de l'axe du tube: cet accroissement a lieu par paliers, une collerette (30) ayant même diamètre que la collerette (40) qui la suit dans la direction de la propagation du faisceau. Application aux ensembles amplificateurs pour télécommunications notamment.
