Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0038586A2] Fuel injection apparatus for mixture-compressing internal-combustion engines with applied ignition and continuous injection into the intake pipe (1), in which a measuring element and a throttle flap (2) actuable as desired by means of an accelerator pedal are arranged in series and the measuring element is moved counter to a restoring force in accordance with the air quantity flowing through and in the process adjusts the movable part of a metering valve, arranged in the fuel line (13, 14) and comprising one differential pressure valve (3, 4) per cylinder of the internal-combustion engine, for metering in a fuel quantity proportional to the air quantity. In order to improve the exhaust emissions, the fuel consumption and the operating behaviour of the internal-combustion engine in the warm-up phase, the throttle is a nonadjustable restrictor (23) and, to influence the pressure difference as a function of the position of the accelerator pedal, a variable restrictor device (29, 34) is provided which can be influenced by a control arrangement (30, 30-, 30A, 37, 55, 70) in such a way that the pressure difference at the differential pressure valves (3, 4) is increased in the case of acceleration during the warm-up phase of the internal-combustion engine and, as a consequence of the resulting enrichment of the fuel quantity, a richer fuel/air mixture is brought about. <IMAGE>
