In order to rapidly provide the spool (9) with the yarn appropriate to the width of the fabric without applying excessive stresses to the yarn or without increasing the length of the weft storage box (29) of the spools (9), the injector (23) moves, along with the yarn (24, 24a) at a low speed on its launching within the storage box (29), the displacement being determined from a starting position; at the end of this displacement, the injector returns at high speed to its starting position.

Bei einem Verfahren zum pneumatischen Eintragen des Schußfadens (24,24a) in die Schußfadenträger (9) einer mehrsystemigen Webmaschine wird der Schußfaden (24, 24a) in jeweils vorbestimmter Länge abgemessen mittels eines Luftstromes in einem Injektor (23) in das Schußfadenmagazin (29) eines in einer kontinuierlichen Bewegung an dem Injektor (23) vorbeilaufenden Schußfadenträgers (9) eingebracht. Um die Schußfadenträger (9) mit dem für die Gewebeabschnittsbreite bei einer mehrsystemigen Webmaschine jeweils erforderlichen Schußfaden schnell versorgen zu können, ohne daß dadurch eine unzulässige Beanspruchung des Schußfadens oder eine Verlängerung des Schußfadenmagazins (29) der Schußfadenträger (9) erforderlich wäre, wird der Injecktor, (23) ausgehend von einer Ausgangsstellung, während des Einbringens des Schußfadens (24, 24a) in das Schußfadenmagazin (29) über eine vorbestimmte Weglänge mit dem Schußfadenträger (9) mit einer kleineren Geschwindigkeit mitbewegt und am Ende dieses Weges wieder in die Ausgangsstellung schnell zurückgebracht.
