1. An apparatus for lowering people by rope, especially for rescuing people from multi-storied buildings, comprising a support (1) in which a rope drum (5) is rotatably disposed between two support legs (2, 3) from which a drum rope (7) can be wound off the free end of which is attached to a stationary point of attachment (9), further comprising a rope-drum brake system including two brake discs (21) provided on the support legs (2, 3) and forceable against the front sides (22) of the rope drum (5), further comprising an articulated tractive connection of the two support legs (2, 3) engaged by a suspension carrying the person such that the suspension force is converted into two force components forcing the support legs (2, 3) against the brake discs (21), and comprising a brake control lever (16) which when actuated via the articulated tractive connection of the two support legs (2, 3) composed of two lever flaps (10, 11) pivotally connected to one another and to respectively one support leg, exerts a force influencing the rope-drum brake system and counter-acting the force components forcing the support legs (2, 3) against the brake discs (21) and relieving the rope-drum brake system in that the brake control lever (16) so engages the two lever flaps (10, 11) that the same upon actuation of the brake control lever (16) are moved in opposition to the suspension force toward the stretched position thereof, characterized in that the two lever flaps (10, 11) respectively comprise a downwardly protruding lever extension (13 and 15, respectively), and that the brake control lever (16) is pivotably disposed on one of the two lever extensions (15) in a hinge (17) and, with a guide element (18) is in abutment with a curve face (19) of the other lever extension (13).

Bei dieser Abseilvorrichtung ist zwischen zwei Rahmenschenkeln (2,3) eine Seiltrommel (5) drehbar gelagert, von der ein Seil (7) abspulbar ist. Eine Seiltrommel-Bremsvorrichtung weist zwei an den Rahmenschenkeln angebrachte und gegen die Stirnseiten der Seiltrommel drückbare Bremsscheiben (21) auf. An einer gelenkigen Zugverbindung der beiden Rahmenschenkel (2,3) greift eine die Person tragende Aufhängung derart an, daß die Aufhängekraft in zwei die Rahmenschenkel gegen die Bremsscheiben drückende Kraftkomponenten umgesetzt wird. Um bei Betätigung eines Bremssteuerhebels (16) eine Erhöhung der Abseilgeschwindigkeit herbeizuführen, wobei ausgeschlossen ist, daß sich ohne oder bei nur zögernder Betätigung des Bremssteuerhebels eine zu hohe Abseilgeschwindigkeit einstellen kann, ist vorgesehen, daß die vom Bremssteuerhebel (16) bei Betätigung ausgeübte Kraft den die Rahmenschenkel (2,3) gegen die Bremsscheiben (21) drückenden Kraftkomponenten entgegengerichtet ist und die Seiltrommel-Bremsvorrichtung entlastet.
