A method for the manufacture of a cover capsule provided with a cylindrical skirt, the edge of which is to be mounted on the ring of the neck of a bottle already equipped with a cork and the skirt (2b) of which has, at the desired cutting level thereof, an annular pre-cut strip (5) comprising on both sides an interruption (6), ends (5a) formed as two gripping tabs, disposed symmetrically with respect to the said interruption, each tab (5a) having rough portions obtained by embossing, knurling or the like, in order to facilitate the gripping thereof, characterized in that the rough portions which each tab (5a) has are produced by knurling or moulding, before cutting the latter, over the whole length of the pre-cut strip (5).
