Vertically axed pump for buried liquid gas tanks, comprising a pump body with vane wheels (40) keyed on to the driving shaft (5) and a suction mechanism connected to the pump body comprising a suction flange (20), a centrifugal wheel (31), a check valve (21, 22) and a closing valve (27) located in the base of a shaft and controlled in opposition to return springs (28), characterized in that the check valve (21, 22) joined to the suction flange (20) of centrifugal wheel (31) can communicate with the content of the tank by closing valve (27), and in that one or more discharge valves (32) located in a ring (25) of suction flange (20) make it possible to completely evacuate residual gas contained in the pump body, as well as between check valve (22) and closing valve (27).
