[origin: US4350646A] Evaporation air-humidifier having a water storage container with a support plate carrying an evaporation filter and a pump extending into the water storage container, a fan, a motor for driving the pump, a hood formed with air inlet and air outlet openings, the motor being fastened to the hood, and a clutch between the motor and the pump, the clutch being automatically engageable when the hood is disposed on the storage container and automatically disengageable when the hood is removed from the storage container, including a substantially hollow cylindrical flow channel wherein the motor and the fan are disposed, the flow channel extending from the underside of the hood at least to the fan.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Verdunstungsluftbefeuchter mit einem Wasservorratsbehälter, mit einer Tragplatte, welche einen Verdunstungsfilter und eine in den Wasservorratsbehälter reichende Pumpe trägt, mit einem Ventilator, mit einem Motor zum Antreiben der Pumpe und mit einer Haube mit Luftein- und Luftaustrittsöffnungen, wobei der Motor an der Haube befestigt und zwischen Motor und Pumpe eine Kupplung vorgesehen ist, mittels welcher beim Abheben bzw. Aufsetzen der Haube automatisch die Verbindung lösbar bzw. herstellbar ist. Um bei einem derartigen Verdunstungsluftbefeuchter eine möglichst geringe Bauhöhe zu erreichen, wobei eine ordnungsgemäße Luftführung sichergestellt werden soll, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Motor und der Ventilator innerhalb eines im wesentlichen hohlzylindrischen Strömungskanales angeordnet sind, welcher sich von der Unterseite der Haube bis zumindest zum Ventilator erstreckt.
