Egg packages made of deep-drawn plastic film, in particular polystyrene film, are critical in terms of production but particularly in use. The present egg package is of such a design that the eggs are optimally supported and also ventilated in individual nests. Furthermore, the package is designed in such a way that pressure loads can be absorbed without affecting the eggs. This is achieved by the fact that there is between the nests (10) of the longitudinal centre plane formed in the lower part (14) a continuous support rib (12) of essentially constant height and, in the same plane in the region of the lid (16) a counter-support rib (18) which is likewise continuous over the entire length of said lid, which ribs are dimensioned such that they are supported on one another essentially over the full length when the package is closed. <IMAGE>

Eierpackungen aus tiefgezogener Kunststoff-, insbesondere Polystyrolfolie sind herstellungstechnisch, insbesondere aber für den Gebrauch kritisch. Die vorliegende Eierpackung ist konstruktiv so gestaltet, daß die Eier in einzelnen Nestern optimal abgestützt und auch belüftet sind. Des weiteren ist die Packung so gestaltet, daß Druckbelastungen ohne Beeinträchtigung der Eier aufgefangen werden können. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, daß zwischen den im Unterteil (14) gebildeten Nestern (10) der Längsmittelebene eine durchgehende mit im wesentlichen gleicher Höhe ausgebildete Stützrippe (12) und in gleicher Ebene im Bereich des Deckels (16) ebenfalls über die gesamte Länge desselben durchgehende Gegenstützrippe (18) derart bemessen sind, daß sie sich bei geschlossener Packung im wesentlichen auf voller Länge abstützen.
