[origin: EP0041156A2] The invention concerns a heating boiler for fuels having a combustion space 3 which can be supplied from a fuel reservoir, in which combustion space 3 the fuel enters as a fuel layer over a guide wall falling obliquely towards the ash support plate. Arranged over the guide wall is a metering slide 14 varying the height of the passage slit in conjunction with the guide wall. The boiler casing 2 has an inlet connection 11 which can be connected to the outlet of the fuel reservoir and penetrate through an opening in one boiler wall. A metering and fire protection lock 18 designed as a drum-shaped hollow rotating body 19 and arranged after the inlet connection and before the passage slot 13 is located within the boiler casing.
