Abstract (en)
A pole climbing iron comprising a shoe-support plate (1) provided with a pole-abutment member (2), a gripping arm (4), and a connecting arm (3) interconnecting the pole-abutment member (2) and the gripping arm (4). The pole climbing iron is intended to be used for climbing tapering poles and is adjustable to the gradually diminishing diameter of tapering poles. This adjustability is achieved in that the shoe-support plate (1) to which is attached the pole-abutment member (2), is connected to the connecting arm (3) via a ratchet mechanism (5) by means of which the shoe-support plate (1) may be displaced relative to the connecting arm (3).
