[origin: US4659438A] For the direct gold plating of stainless steel parts in acid baths there is needed a pretreatment of the parts. Known processes operate with corrosive media such as strong acids and attack the surface. These disadvantages are avoided by putting the stainless steel part in an electrolytic, aqueous solution and first treating cathodically and subsequently anodically.

Zur direkten Vergoldung von Edelstahlteilen in sauren Bädern ist eine Vorbehandlung der Teile nötig. Bekannte Verfahren, die mit aggressiven Medien, wie starke Säuren, arbeiten, greifen die Oberfläche an und beeinträchtigen die Haftfestigkeit. Diese Nachteile werden vermieden, wenn man die Edelstahlteile in eine galvanische, wässrige Lösung bringt und zuerst kathodisch und anschließend anodisch behandelt.
