Abstract (en)
The injection pump and injection nozzle are combined to form a constructional unit, referred to as a unit fuel injector, allocated to each engine cylinder. Both a control device which controls the delivery quantity and a control device which controls the beginning of injection are integrated into each unit fuel injector. Both control devices are actuated by separate speed-measuring devices (4, 16) which are situated outside the space in which the unit fuel injectors are situated, are arranged coaxially to one another and are driven in common by the crankshaft, either directly or indirectly.
