Shelf unit (11) with several superimposed compartments and guides arranged therein which can be removed from the shelf unit (11) and which contain removably mounted assortment cabinets (17), which can optionally be closed with a cover (18) and whose fronts remain substantially free and which in the case of completely removed guides are located completely outside the shelf unit (11), characterized in that the guides are constructed as drawers (14) comprising in each case one profile frame (26 to 29) having two longitudinal profiles (26) running in the removal direction, which are constructed in roughly chair-shaped manner slidingly guided on geometrically similar profiles (31) fitted in the vicinity of the side walls (30) of the shelf unit (11) and which comprise a vertical, upper portion and an outwardly open U-profile connected thereto, a transverse profile connecting the longitudinal profiles (26) and forming the front of the drawer (14) and a transverse profile (27, 28) located in the rear area of the longitudinal profiles (26), the profile frame (26 to 28) having bearing surfaces and stops for the secure holding of the particular assortment cabinet (17).
