[origin: US4449685A] The purpose of the invention is to reduce the total power consumed by a coupling for inducing a high-frequency alternating current in the rails of a railroad track for the purpose of transmitting information to trains traveling along the track. According to the invention, the coupling consists of two conductive coils made of a conductive strip attached to an insulating strip, the conductive strip being arrayed, in the portions of the coupling that are parallel to the rail, in a plane parallel to the sides of the central rib of the rail and on either side of it, the insulating strip separating the central rib of the rail from the conductive strip. The two coils are connected in such a way that the same current flows in the same direction through both.

L'invention a pour but de réduire la puissance consommée globale par une boucle induisant un courant alternatif à haute fréquence dans les rails d'une voie ferrée pour la transmission d'informations aux trains circulant sur cette voie. Belon l'invention la boucle est constituée de deux spires conductrices réalisées au moyen d'une bande conductrice (8) fixée sur une bande isolante (9), la bande conductrice étant disposée, dans les parties de la boucle qui sont parallèles au rail (1), dans un plan parallèle aux flancs de l'âme (10) du rail et de part et d'autre de celle-ci, la bande isolante (9) séparant l'âme (10) du rail et la bande conductrice (8). Les deux spires sont connectées de telle manière qu'elles soient parcourues par un même courant de même sens. Application au domaine ferroviaire.
