A composite section, particularly for windows, doors, façades or the like, consisting of at least two metal sections (1, 2) which are fastened to one another in spaced relation by at least heat-insulating section (9), the insulating sections of which comprise projections (10) for positive engagement in corresponding recesses (6) in the metal sections and are first inserted with clearance in the recesses in the metal sections whereupon the projections are secured immovably in the recesses with positive locking by means of deformable webs (7, 27) on the metal sections and/or on the insulating sections, or additional pressure elements (21), the composite section having a surface coating obtained under heat treatment, characterized in that the projections (10) of the insulating sections (9) providing the positive engagement consist partially of a heat-sealing adhesive (12) which is stable in shape before the processing and which can be activated at the temperature of the final heat treatment for the surface coating of the composite section.
